The Big Dipper's handle points directly to Arcturus.
Last night's Segaki ceremony was shared beneath a big open sky, with the quarter moon glowing brightly.
Snow from the Nor'easter the day before crunched underfoot, and the lively, small fire to which we fed our prayers for reconciliation did little to warm us.
As the evening progressed and the moon set, it got bigger and hazier on the horizon, a knowing smile on the Buddha's face!
