ZenFest!Obon Celebration & Summer Festival
Join us Saturday August 6, 3 p.m. at the House of Meditation-Tonboji Temple for an afternoon of celebration and remembrance of family, friends, and anyone you would like to particularly honor.
KyoDaiko, taiko drummers from Philadelphia will be on hand to perform their powerful, energetic drum routines, as well as teach us all how to dance the Bon-Odori, a traditional circle dance for all generations.There will also be Karate demonstrations, a chance to enjoy the delicious made-to-order Sushi from Akita's of Lemoyne, and decorating a candle boat to be launched later in the evening at Golconda Ranch in Grantville on the ranch pond. We will launch your boat for you if you are unable to attend the Obon liturgy and launching.
You may also purchase a paper lantern to honor a loved one and hang it in the meditation garden.
All donations will benefit the Japan Earthquake/Tsunami relief effort.
