ZENFEST & OBON CEREMONY & SUMMER CELEBRATION!The House of Meditation presents ZENFEST, Saturday August 6, 3 p.m. We will be celebrating Obon, the summer festival of remembrance and honoring our relatives and loved ones.
The afternoon begins with taiko drumming by members of Philadelphia's Kyo Daiko drummers. We will also be taught how to dance the Bon-Odori, a traditional Japanese dance.
Thrill to the Karate demonstrations, enjoy delicious freshly made Sushi from Akita's of Lemoyne and decorate a candle boat or purchase a paper lantern to honor a loved one.
All donations will benefit Japan's earthquake/tsunami relief efforts.
Later in the early evening, join Sensei Tony Stultz and the priests of the Order of the Dragonfly at Gongola Ranch in Grantville where we will sail the candle boats at dusk and perform the Obon Liturgy.
We will sail your boat for you if you are unable to attend the Liturgy.
