Jill Bolte Taylor, Ph.D., neuroanatomist and author of My Stroke of Insight: A Brain Scientist's Personal Journey, is remarkable and inspiring. This is a true Hero's Journey, and she has returned with the boon, so to speak. Watch the TED video and see for yourself. (And if you don't get choked up or cry while she's describing her experience, you are a robot!)
Dr. Taylor's fascinating book will be discussed Monday November 8, 7 p.m. at Borders Bookstore Harrisburg. Sensei Tony Stultz, Director of the Center For Mindful Living, will take a deep look into her experience, as well as the ramifications of her personal discoveries for those practicing Mindfulness and Buddhism.
What happens when the Ego Self becomes porous and ephemeral? Is this Enlightenment with a capitol "E"? Where is the True Self through all of this?
Why do we make a distinction between the Ego Self and the True Self, and what does this mean for all sentient beings and the Bodhisattvas who vow to remain on this earth until all beings are awakened?
Are we already awakened?
How can we know it?
Try the book, it's incredible, then come to the Book Talk!
