Blue Lotus, the Lotus of Manjusri

Manjusri, the Bodhisattva of Prajna ( great wisdom), wields a flaming sword in his right hand, a copy of the Prajna-paramita Sutras in his left. Manjusri's sword cuts through delusion and ignorance. But the cutting of the sword's blade does not yield separate entities--paradoxically, duality is eliminated!
I love this image. For how long have I insisted on creating a life of either/or, black/white, this/that....well, most of my life!
Wisdom alone is only half the picture, the other half is Compassion.
The Blue Lotus is a symbol of wisdom, knowledge and realization-- of the victory of the spirit over the 5 Aggregates and our senses. Unlike the red or white lotus, the Blue Lotus is a partially open bud, its center is never seen.
